Accenture MDR Quick Start Guide for Symantec Endpoint Protection - Syslog

This quick start guide will help Accenture MDR customers configure Symantec Endpoint Server to send logs to the Log collection Platform (LCP).

 Configuring Symantec Endpoint Protection

Export log data to a Syslog Server

  1. Login to the SEPM Console.

  2. Navigate to Admin > Servers > Local site or Remote site where you want to export log data.

3. Click Configure External Logging.

4. Under General tab, select the Update Frequency list box, to specify how often to send log data to the file.

5. Select the management server to send logs in the Master Logging Server list box

 Note: If you use SQL Server and connect multiple management servers to the database, then specify only one server as the Master Logging server.

 6. Check the Enable Transmission of Logs to a Syslog Server

7. Provide the following information in the below fields

  • Syslog Server  - Enter the IP address or Domain name of the Syslog server where you want to receive the log data.

  • Destination Port  - Choose the protocol to use and enter the destination port.

  • Log Facility - Enter the Log facility value.  Default range is from 0 to 23.

8. In the Log Filter tab, select which logs to export.

9. Click OK.
