Accenture MDR Quick Start Guide for Epic System

This quick start guide will help Accenture MDR customers configure Epic System to send logs to the Log collection Platform (LCP).

Configuring Epic System 

 Note: Accenture MDR recommends that you coordinate with Epic support in order to accomplish the logging configuration.  

  1. If your instance of Interconnect does not have all Web services enabled, perform the following steps to run the required SendSIEMSyslogAudit service.

    1. Access the Interconnect Configuration Editor (Start > Epic 2015 > Interconnect > [your instance] > Configuration Editor).

    2. Select the Business Services form.

    3. On the Service Category tab, select SendSIEMSyslogAudit.

    4. Click Save.

  2. To configure Epic System to send event logs to the LCP, follow the steps below.

  3. Go to Epic System Definitions (%ZeUSTBL) > Security > Auditing Options > SIEM Syslog Settings.

  4. Select the SIEM Syslog Configuration options:

  • In the Host text box, type the LCP_IP_Address.

  • In the Port text box, type the port number.

  • From the SIEM Format drop-drop list, select CEF (Common Event Format).

  • Set Syslog Ending Character to New Line “\n”

  • Return to the SIEM Syslog Settings menu.

  • Select SIEM Syslog and set it to Enabled.
