About the Device
Azure Application Gateway is a web traffic load balancer that enables you to manage traffic to your web applications. Traditional load balancers operate at the transport layer (OSI layer 4 - TCP and UDP) and route traffic based on source IP address and port, to a destination IP address and port.
Application Gateway can make routing decisions based on additional attributes of an HTTP request, for example, URI path or host headers. This type of routing is known as application layer (OSI layer 7) load balancing. Azure Application Gateway can do URL-based routing and more.

Device Configuration
Prerequisites
An Azure subscription that you can sign in to.
An Azure App Gateway environment (tenant) in Azure
A user who's a Global Administrator or Azure App Gateway Administrator.
Azure Storage Account to store the logs or an Event Hub to stream the logs.Â

Configuration Steps
In the Azure portal, select your Application Gateways from the menu and select the Application Gateway to be configured for logging
In Diagnostic settings, select Turn on Diagnostics.
Select Add diagnostic setting.
Select ApplicationGatewayAccessLog, ApplicationGatewayFirewallLog and ApplicationGatewayPerformanceLog in category details(log).
As per customer requirement, either you can store logs in Storage Account or stream the logs to Event Hub. Adaptive MxDR supports log collection for both the options.Â
To Configure a Storage Account
Adaptive MxDR recommends a minimum of 1 day of log retention, the number can be defined based on the organization's policies.
To store logs in Storage Account, select Archive to a storage account in Destination details and select an existing Subscription and Storage account.Â
To Configure EventHub
To stream logs to Event Hub, select Stream to an event hub in Destination details.
Select Subscription, event hub namespace , event hub name and event hub policy name created during Event Hub as part of prerequisite.
