To facilitate secure communication and align with our best practice, we strongly encourage the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) between your security devices and our Adaptive MxDR platform for event forwarding.
While we understand that TLS support may not be available on all devices, if your devices do support TLS communication, we recommend utilizing port 6514 for seamless integration.
In some cases, the upgraded version of the device might incorporate TLS support without prior notice. If you come across such a scenario or for further assistance in configuring TLS, we kindly ask you to reach out to your dedicated Adaptive MxDR Service Delivery Lead.
Device Configuration
Log in to the FortiEDR management console using your Admin credentials.
Navigate to ADMINISTRATION > EXPORT SETTINGS.
In Syslog, click Define New Syslog and configure the following in the Syslog parameters for your Fortinet receiving component (For example, FortiEDR).
Enter a Name, <Free-text field that identifies this in the FortiEDR>
In Host, enter the IP address of the CyberHub.
In Port, enter the TCP port number as 601.
In Protocol, select TCP to send logs to CyberHub.
Enable TLS
In Format, select Semicolon
Click Test to test the connection to the Syslog destination server.
Save the configuration.
Select the Syslog row and then use the sliders in the NOTIFICATIONS pane on the right to enable sending events.

Click Settings next to Security Events and then check the Syslog message fields of your choice.
Click Save. FortiEDR security events will now be sent as Syslog messages to the configured destination server.
