About the Device
A Secure Web Gateway (SWG) is a security technology designed to protect organizations, networks, users and devices from internet-related threats. SWGs perform two primary functions: they filter out unsafe content from web traffic, and they block risky or unauthorized user behavior. SWGs inspect incoming and outgoing traffic, using company policy to determine whether web traffic should be allowed, blocked or quarantined.

To facilitate secure communication and align with our best practice, we strongly encourage the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) between your security devices and our Adaptive MxDR platform for event forwarding.
While we understand that TLS support may not be available on all devices, if your devices do support TLS communication, we recommend utilizing port 6514 for seamless integration.
In some cases, the upgraded version of the device might incorporate TLS support without prior notice. If you come across such a scenario or for further assistance in configuring TLS, we kindly ask you to reach out to your dedicated Adaptive MxDR Service Delivery Lead.
Device Configuration
Log in to Forcepoint console.
Expand Settings
Click General
Select SIEM Integration
Click Enable SIEM integration for this Policy Server.
Enter IP address of the syslog servers and port number: 601
Select Transport protocol: TCP
Select SIEM Format as syslog/CEF (Arcsight)
We recommend using Archsight CEF as a default SIEM format string. The format string should be kept as it is.
Click OK
10. Click save and deploy.Â
