Device Configuration

Enable Auditing in Office 365:

  1. Login to the Microsoft Purview compliance portal at https://compliance.microsoft.com with Admin or Similar Access Privileges. 

  2. Navigate to Solutions > Audit. If the auditing isn't turned on for your organization, a banner is displayed prompting you Start recording user and admin activity.

  3. Select the Start recording user and admin activity banner to enable Audit Logs.

Note - It may take up to 60 minutes for the change to take effect.

App registration and Generate Secret Key for Integration

  1. Login to the Azure management portal.

  2. Select  Azure Active Directory.

  1. Click App registrations.

  1. Click on New registrations. Create an application as shown below

  1. Now new registered app will get displayed under App Registration 

  1. Click on Add a permission and then provide permissions to API. (Refer below screenshot for API permissions).

  1. Select Certificates & secrets section, click New Client Secret then provide a description and specify the validity duration in the pop-up window.

  1. Click Add. Newly added Client secret details will be displayed as below

  1. Copy the Secret Value displayed and not the Secret ID,

Note: Secret Value will be displayed only at the time of creation and this will be required for Adaptive MxDR integration.

  1. To find your Microsoft 365 tenant ID in the Azure AD admin center. Your tenant ID can be found in the Directory ID box on the Properties page.

  1. To find your Microsoft 365 Client ID (Application ID) in the Azure AD admin center

    • Select Azure Active Directory.

    • From App registrations in Azure AD, select your application.

    • Copy the Client ID (Application ID)
