About the Device
VMware SD-WAN is a cloud network service solution enabling sites to quickly deploy Enterprise grade access to legacy and cloud applications over both private networks and Internet broadband.
Cloud-delivered Software-defined WAN assures enterprises the cloud application performance over Internet and hybrid WAN, while simplifying deployments and reducing costs.
VeloCloud comes along with three components:
VCO (VeloCLoud Orchestrator) :Â Orchestrator provides centralized enterprise-wide configuration and real time monitoring. It allows admin to manage profiles, users, config. , notifications and alerts.
VCE (VeloCLoud Edge) : These are enterprise-class devices or virtual software that provide secure and optimized connectivity to private, public and hybrid applications; compute; and virtualized services.
Internet Gateway : Gateways are used to provide SD-WAN services to the doorstep of SaaS, IaaS and cloud network services, as well as access to private backbones.
There are several benefits of Velocloud such as simplified operations , Enhanced Application performance, optimal path for cloud solutions and Intrinsic Security.

To facilitate secure communication and align with our best practice, we strongly encourage the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) between your security devices and our Adaptive MxDR platform for event forwarding.
While we understand that TLS support may not be available on all devices, if your devices do support TLS communication, we recommend utilizing port 6514 for seamless integration.
In some cases, the upgraded version of the device might incorporate TLS support without prior notice. If you come across such a scenario or for further assistance in configuring TLS, we kindly ask you to reach out to your dedicated Adaptive MxDR Service Delivery Lead.
Device Configuration
Login to VCO Console.
Navigate to Configure > Profiles. The Configuration Profiles page appears
Select Profile, click Device.Â
In Device Settings, in Configure Segment, select a profile segment.Â
By default, Global Segment [Regular] is selected
Navigate to Syslog Settings and configure the following:
In Facility Code, select a Syslog standard value.
Allowed values are from local0 through local7.
Select the Syslog Enabled.
In IP, enter the CYBERHUB IP address.
In Protocol, select either TCP as the Syslog protocol.
In Port, enter the port number of the Syslog collector. TCP - 601.
In Roles, select one of the following:Â Â FIREWALL EVENT
In Syslog Level, select the Syslog severity level to be configured.
In Tag - keep the tag value as
velocloud.sdwanas it is the anchor field. Tag should not be blank and value should only beÂvelocloud.sdwanSelect All Segments, if you want the Syslog to receive firewall logs from all the segments. If the checkbox is disabled, the Syslog will receive firewall logs only from that particular Segment in which the collector is configured
