To facilitate secure communication and align with our best practice, we strongly encourage the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) between your security devices and our Adaptive MxDR platform for event forwarding.
While we understand that TLS support may not be available on all devices, if your devices do support TLS communication, we recommend utilizing port 6514 for seamless integration.
In some cases, the upgraded version of the device might incorporate TLS support without prior notice. If you come across such a scenario or for further assistance in configuring TLS, we kindly ask you to reach out to your dedicated Adaptive MxDR Service Delivery Lead.
Device Configuration
Prerequisites: A universal connector should be created to forward events to CyberHub
Login to BeyondInsight Console.
In BeyondInsight console, navigate to Configuration > General > Connectors.
In Connectors, click Create New Connector.
Enter a name for the connector.
Select Universal Event Forwarder.
Leave Active (yes) enabled.
Under Available output pipelines, select protocol as UDP or TCP or TCP-SSL
Enter the Hostname and Port.
if Protocol is UDP, Port should be 514
if Protocol is TCP, Port should be 601
if Protocol is TCP-SSL, Port should be 6514
Select an output format as JSON format. If this format is selected, enable the Use Syslog(yes) option to add the syslog header format to the JSON output file.
Select Facility as Syslog
Expand Event Filters, and then select the events that you want to forward. Select Severity as All.
Click Test Connector to send a test event message.
Click Create Connector.
