Get Credentials for AWS Storage

In case of AWS Storage, we can pull logs either from S3 or SQS.

To configure integration parameters we need following details:

Pre-requisite

For S3

  • Region

  • S3 URI

  • Access key ID

  • Secret access key

For SQS

  • Region

  • Queue name

  • Account number

  • Queue access key ID

  • Queue secret access key

Following are the steps to get the above mentioned details:

Region

  1. Sign in to the AWS console

  2. The region appears in upper-right corner of the console beside the account information

S3 URI

  1. Login to your AWS S3 account

  2. Navigate to the S3 service

  3. Select the bucket containing the log files/directory which you would like to configure

  4. Select the checkbox next to the directory. Click Copy S3 URI on the top right and share it with Adaptive MxDR Service Delivery Lead

Access key ID and Secret Access Key

  1. Use your AWS Account ID or account alias, your IAM user name, and your password to sign in to the IAM console.

  2. In the navigation bar on the upper right, choose your user name, and then choose Security credentials.

The Security credentials tab is displayed only for the AWS account root user. IAM users can manage access keys from the navigation pane.

  1. Choose Users.

  2. In the Users list, choose the name of the IAM user.

  3. Choose the Security Credentials tab. Under Access keys, choose Create access key.

To create an access key

  1. In the Access keys section, choose Create access key. If you already have two access keys, this button is deactivated and you must delete an access key before you can create a new one.

  2. On the Access key best practices & alternatives page, choose your use case to learn about additional options which can help you avoid creating a long-term access key. If you determine that your use case still requires an access key, choose Other and then click Next.

  1. (Optional) Set a description tag value for the access key.

  2. On the Retrieve access keys page, choose either Show to reveal the value of your user's secret access key, or Download .csv file. This is your only opportunity to save your secret access key. After you've saved your secret access key in a secure location, click Done.

  1. Share Access Key ID and Secret Access Key to Adaptive MxDR Service Delivery Lead

To activate an access key

If you would like to use existing Access Key ID and Secret Access Key, but it is not activated or to confirm if your key is activated, please follow below steps:

  • In the Access keys section, find the key to activate, then choose Actions and click Activate.

Queue name

  1. Sign in to the AWS console

  2. Navigate to Simple Queue Service

  3. Select desired Queue

  4. Copy the Name

 

Account number

  1. In the navigation bar on the upper right, choose your Account name or number and then choose Security Credentials

  2. Under the Account details section, the account number appears next to AWS Account ID.
