Configuring Bluecat Integrity

Bluecat Integrity Address Manager allows you to set Syslog (system log) redirection from the Address Manager user interface by adding an IPv4 or IPv6 address for one or more syslog redirection servers. The top-most server will be queried first.

  1. From a web browser, go to https://hostname

Note: Where hostname is the fully qualified domain name of the Address Manager server. On a local network, you can simply enter the local IP address of the Address Manager server.

2. Enter your username and password and click Login.

3. Select the Administration tab.

4. Under General, click Service Configuration.

5. From the Service Type drop-down menu, select Syslog

6. Under General Settings, set the following parameters:
Syslog Server— Enter the IP address for a syslog server and click Add. The syslog server appears in the list.

7. Click Update.

LCP Configuration Parameters

Table 1-2: The Bluecat Integrity event collector (Syslog - 3829) sensor properties to be configured by MDR are shown in the table.

Property

Default Value

Description

Protocol

UDP

The default protocol for syslog. The collector can also accept logs in TCP.

Note: While TCP offers guaranteed delivery of log packets, it places a larger overhead on the LCP. To balance TCP for reliability over UDP for speed/simplicity, contact the Accenture Security MDR onboarding team.

IP Address

Custom value

Logging device IP address mentioned in the Pre-Installation Questionnaire (PIQ).

Note: If the device sends logs using multiple interfaces, contact the Accenture Security MDR onboarding team.

Signatures

named[,]: DHCPACK,]: DHCPDECLINE,]: DHCPDISCOVER,]: DHCPEXPIRE,]: DHCPINFORM,]: DHCPNAK,]: DHCPOFFER,]: DHCPRELEASE,]: DHCPREQUEST

MDR recommended signatures processed by the Bluecat Integrity event collector.

Port Number

514

The default port number for syslog. For TCP, the default port is 601.

Note: The LCP can be configured to listen on a non-standard port, please advise the Accenture Security MDR onboarding team if this is a requirement.
